What the video says

A job is done. Completing it turns it into money: the client charge and the interpreter's pay.

  1. Every job has a billing view, and it shows the math from the moment an interpreter is confirmed: the hours, the rate, the minimum, and any rush or after-hours charge, each on its own line. Under it, the interpreter's pay from the rate on their profile, and the profit between the two.
  2. If the job ran long or ended early, enter the actual times when you complete it. The charge and the pay follow.
  3. Expenses go on the job too: mileage, parking, tolls, a train ticket, a hotel for an overnight, travel time. Each one can be charged to the client, paid to the interpreter, or both.
  4. Need a different number for just this one job? Edit the rate on the job. Override the base rate, the minimum, the rush or after-hours add-on, or the interpreter's pay. Or set one fixed total for the whole job and skip the math. Nothing on your rate card changes, and a custom badge marks what you overrode.
  5. If the appointment didn't happen, mark it a no-show. What you bill for it follows your own policy.
  6. Once it's completed, it's ready to invoice.
  7. Check the math on your first few jobs. Each one shows exactly which rate was used.

Next, rush and after-hours charges.
