Our Story

We don't study interpreting agencies. We run one.

IMP was built inside Frederick Interpreting Agency to run our own operation — the dispatching, the scheduling, the billing. It worked so well we opened it to every agency that deserves better than a patchwork of generic tools.

Why we built it

Interpreting agencies were the last to get real software.

For years, running an agency meant holding the work together by hand — a scheduling tool that didn't know what an interpreter was, a spreadsheet for rates, a separate system for invoices, and a thread of emails to keep it all from falling apart.

Generic platforms treated interpreting like any other appointment. None of them understood certifications, language pairs, on-site versus remote, rush and after-hours rates, or the distance between confirming a job and getting paid for it.

We lived that patchwork every day. So we replaced it — with one system that speaks the language of the work.

The usual agency stack — replaced by one system

One system, end to end

From the first request to the final report — all in one place

Most agencies hand a job between four or five tools before it's done. IMP covers every stage of the work, so nothing slips through the gaps between systems.

Built by operators

The people who build IMP run an agency every day.

Frederick Interpreting Agency is a Deaf-owned interpreting agency. The same team that dispatches interpreters, manages rosters, and sends invoices is the team that builds this platform.

Every feature was proven in a working agency before it ever reached yours. And because the people behind it are Deaf-owned operators, accessibility isn't a box we checked late — it's in the DNA of how the product is made.

  • Run, not theorized. Built by people who do this work daily.
  • Accessibility-native. Shaped by a Deaf-owned team from day one.
  • Proven before it ships. Every feature earns its place in a real agency first.
What we believe

Principles we build by

Built by operators, not observers

Every feature answers a problem we've actually hit running an agency — not one imagined in a roadmap meeting.

One system, not a stack

Your agency shouldn't need five disconnected tools that don't talk to each other. Dispatch, scheduling, billing, and payments belong in one place.

Accessibility is in our DNA

Built by a Deaf-owned agency, IMP treats accessibility as a starting point, not an afterthought bolted on at the end.

Every feature earns its place

If it doesn't help you run the agency, it isn't here. We'd rather ship a tool that's sharp than one that's crowded.
