Rush and after-hours charges

Priority rates add a rush charge when a job is created inside your notice window, with a share for the interpreter. Special rates cover after-hours and holidays. IMP applies both when jobs are completed.

What the video says

Rush jobs and after-hours jobs can cost more. Set it up once and IMP applies it.

  1. A rush charge is a priority rate. It has three parts: how much more you charge, whether that's added to the base rate or replaces it, and the notice window. For example, ten dollars more per hour when a job is created less than 48 hours before it starts.
  2. IMP applies it on its own. Any appointment created inside the window gets the rush charge when it's completed. There's nothing to remember to turn on.
  3. You can pass some or all of it to the interpreter, as a fixed amount per hour or a share. That shows up in their pay automatically too.
  4. Special rates cover the hours themselves. Each one has a type: Outside Business Hours, or Holiday. The type decides when it applies, outside the hours and days you set, or on the holidays you observe. The name is only what prints on the invoice. Ten dollars more an hour after hours, say, with five of it to the interpreter.
  5. When one of these applies, the completed job shows it on its own line, with how much notice there was, so nobody has to explain the invoice.
  6. Interpreters never see what you charge. They see their own pay, and only if you choose to show it.

Next, interpreter pay.
