Creating and sending invoices

Invoices come from completed jobs: pick a client and a date range, review the draft, and send. Your delivery method decides how it reaches the client. Sent invoices lock their jobs.

What the video says

Completed jobs become invoices.

  1. Pick a range of completed dates, and one client or all of them. IMP gathers every completed job that hasn't been billed and groups them by client, one invoice each. Untick anything you don't want billed yet, and set the due date.
  2. Each line shows the date, the language, the interpreter, the length, and the charge. You can adjust a line or add one by hand.
  3. A new invoice starts as a draft. Nothing goes out until you send it.
  4. What sending does depends on your delivery method. On IMP Built-In, your client gets an email with a link. On Manual, you get a PDF to send yourself. The delivery methods video covers all four.
  5. Once it's sent, the jobs on it are locked. That way the invoice and the jobs can never disagree.
  6. Your logo, address, and tax ID come from your agency profile.
  7. Invoices move from draft, to sent, to paid. Anything past its due date shows as overdue.

Next, payments and corrections.
